Central Florida minister has written a book about his life experiences

Crack cocaine and other drugs have proved to be a plague of modern day society. It breaks up marriages, ruins careers and destroys the lives of our family members and friends, not to mention all of the deaths that are a direct result of drug abuse. Statistics show that the vast majority of those incarcerated for other crimes are drug related.

Reverend George Mondy, before he gave his life to Christ, was addicted to drugs for 28 years. He spent time in prison on numerous occasions as the direct result of his drug use. He tried to quit on his own and with the help of a number programs without success. Finally when he was at the end of himself, lying on an operating table close to death, he decided to turn his life over to Jesus Christ. Since that time, over 30-years ago, he has been free of drugs and has dedicated his life to helping others to break free from the shackles of drug addiction. In 1992 he wrote a book “From Crack to Christ”. In this book he tells the story of his life and how through the power of God he was changed from a hopeless dope addict into a dopeless hope addict.

October 22nd 2010 Brother George went home to be with the Lord. Minister Ken Brown carries on with the prayer ministry that focuses on meeting the needs of hurting people. He meets with people on the first and third Saturday of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Harry T. Moore Social Service Center on Deleon Avenue in Titusville, Florida.

When the opportunity came for Rev. Mondy to post his story on the internet, he said, "yes, to the glory of God". He went on to say, "you know, I want my story to reach as many people as possible and to bring glory to Jesus for what he did for me; and what he did for me he will do for others".
